- Hiệu quả can thiệp tại Bệnh viện Nguyễn Tri Phương

SUMMARY OF NEW FINDINGS OF THE THESIS
- Current Status of Social Work Activities
Social work activities were established in all six hospitals, with 5–7 of the seven designated task groups being implemented. However, the scope and depth of these activities varied across hospitals, with a predominant focus on material assistance and fundraising, while mental health support for healthcare workers remained limited. Social work activities were largely oriented toward material support and resource mobilization, whereas specialized services, including emergency support (2/6 hospitals) and psychological counseling (0/6 hospitals), as well as support for healthcare workers (1/6 hospitals), were very limited. Among patients, the overall satisfaction rate with social work activities was 85.7%, and having previously received social work support was associated with greater patient satisfaction (adjusted PR = 1.20). Among healthcare workers, the overall rate of job satisfaction related to social work activities was 55.7%, and direct participation in social work activities was associated with greater satisfaction among healthcare workers (adjusted PR = 1.35).
- Effectiveness of the Intervention at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital
Interventions targeting organizational and management structures, human resources, facilities, and resource allocation were implemented in conjunction with seven packages of patient support activities. The number of support funds increased from 7 to 10, with more flexible disbursement mechanisms and a stronger legal framework. The number of social work activities increased from 85 to 91, while staffing levels remained relatively stable. The provision of essential living expense support increased from 23.3 to 76.5 cases per month (p < 0.001). The proportion of patients satisfied with social work activities was significantly higher after the intervention (94.0% vs. 75.6%; p < 0.001). The model is consistent with the orientation of social work services outlined in Circular No. 51/2024/TT-BYT and has the potential for implementation in Grade I public general hospitals.
