Coordination Workshop for Global Health Security Agenda in Vietnam in 2018-2020

Coordination workshop for Global Health Security Agenda in Vietnam in 2018-2020 was held in Hanoi in 2 days 28 and 29 September 2017 by General Department of Preventive Medicine.

The workshop aimed to discuss and agree on workplan for the next 3 years of Global Health Security Agenda in Vietnam that is supported by USCDC and implemented by national and regional pasteur/hygiene and epidemiology institutions. This program focuses on 4 key components: Laboratory, Surveillance, Emergency Response and Workforce Development.

GDPM and institutions presented their workplans before the workshop moved to detailed discussion for core activities such as SARI sentinel surveillance, Chikungunya-Dengue-Zika sentinel surveillance, Event-based surveillance, Development of EOC network and HIS, Field Epidemiology Training Program, Hepatitis survey, and Laboratory and Biosafety. The workshops achieved agreement about several activities such as SARI sentinel surveillance and Chikungunya-Dengue-Zika sentinel surveillance. However, further discussion is needed for other activities, for both technical and financial aspects.

Next year of the Global Health Security Agenda starts in October 2017.
